I'm here because I need some artists to help me build my science fiction universe. This includes ship texturing, space backgrounds or environements, and monsters. I'm trying to let loose my imagination as soon as possible so that people can believe in the unbelievalbe since people must see to beilieve.
I'm mostly a writer. I'm not much of a CGI guy, but I've always been a science fiction fan. And ever since the end of Star Trek and Star Wars - I'm referring to Episodes 4 - 6, I've been craving Science Fiction movies and TV shows that make people think. Since there are none, I've decided to throw myself into the artistry by writing and creating crude 3D models to get people hyped to what I'm trying to accomplish.

good start here. One thing you may run into (heaven knows I do...;) is that textures can give hints of scale. When we first look at a picture, we use clues we see to put the object in a frame of reference. The texture here is really bumpy, which makes it look a lot smaller than it is (a cruiser implies something pretty big). If you have the ability to reduce the bump on it, that will probably make it look bigger. Another thing is some portholes; a @#$% to do, but they're usually what makes the model work. I don't know from Lightwave, but it's a lot more versatile than what I use (Wings)..but even that simple program takes some time to learn. Keep with it, you've got a good design here, something you can build a real nice spaceship with. Good work, keep it up.
