Description

This is an image I took this summer at "Fårö" on Gotland, Sweden. This dragonfly was surprised by sudden heavy rain, and was pretty pleased to dry its wings, sitting on my girlfriends finger (Issemissen here on Renderosity). From the back: thumb_1536556.jpg

Gosh! Do you know how lucky you are? I love dragonflies, so whenever I see one I try to take a picture of it but have, so far, never managed to find one that would hold still long enough. :-D Excellent shot.

It was a really cool experience, the little guy sat there several minutes, flapping his wings gently to let them dry. He didn't seem afraid of us at all. We have a bunch of pictures of him, not all of them this sharp, though. I guess we must consider us lucky as there are a lot of dragonflies summertime at my parents place. They seem to enjoy resting their wings, sitting on the banister. Take care! :)
