Description

It took a couple of hours to put this together, and it felt like I was in a trance. Practically assembled itself, just flowed so beautifully. Too bad it didn't turn out that great, but it felt good to get it done; it's been a long time since I've been that absorbed in an image. Hope you guys like it. The basic idea came from a landscape that was gonna be in a story I never wrote: it starts out as a suburban sprawl, then becomes salt flats, which gradually become sand dunes, which gradually become covered over in a thick fog, and then there's a giant drop off the edge of the world. I have no idea who this person is supposed to be, maybe they got lost. They come from this great pic by OmirOnia of stock.xchng called "The End", and I've used them a fair amount -- you may remember them from "this is not happening". You know, I've been posting my photomerges in the Mixed Medium gallery for a long time, but since they created the Photomanipulation gallery I'm wondering if I should post there instead. The only reason I don't is because that category is in the Genre section instead of the Gallery section, which I think is a mistake because it's just as much a Gallery category as Mixed Medium is, and also it doesn't let you point out what kind of thing you were going for (it'd be much better if you could post something in "Photomanipulation & Surrealism", for example). Anyway, adios, and thanks for giving "tilt" so much love. Lexa, this is an excellent image. Mysterious and mirage-like, just as you intended. Keep on posting wherever you decide. Good art is appreciated no matter what Gallery or Genre.

you're always child abusing your artwork, lowering its self esteem saying it didnt turn out good. shame on you. there's nothing wrong with this picture. except the guy. i dont like the way he looks. i dont trust him. and its way too small. whats that all about? it is amazing though how you put these pictures together. i'm not new to photomerging but it still amazes me how the eyes can take some comepletely different pictures and figure out how to blend them into one making the picture look like it was made like that since its birth.

I love your story and it sounds like so many great works of art. I think you have finished up with rather an interesting scene with a hot feel to it. I agree with your thoughts on the manipulation as I have trouble with that too and mostly end up in the mixed department too.
