Description
Captured 10/03/07 around 7:20 AM, in a local park about 1.5 miles from my dwelling.
Well, Babuci/Tunde has her superb Wooden Skin series, so I might as well add to the genre with some arboreal captures of my own.
I know I wasn't barking up the wrong tree with this shot. The sun was relatively close to the horizon at that time, which offered great shadow and textural effects when I snapped the photo.

Look at that molten gold as it travels down that tree! That's what it looks like. A golden tree trunk. The shadows are pronounced and the texture is easily seen and enjoyed.

yeepie...wood texture! Harry, you could not choose a better time for this shot than in a setting sun. Give this cool wood texture a fantastic warm orange/brown tone. Hope this going to be a fine series.

Looks like some sort of pine or cypress. Where you are it could be an arbor vitae or twisted juniper. The Golden State, indeed.
