At some point in the near-future, Seattle was at the centre of a world-shaking paranormal happening that was code-named 'The Event'. It was the result of a Pandora's Box of troubles, aka the Logrus Cube being opened by a Parapsychologist determined to debunk the supernatural. In short, Seattle resides in Hell now.
