The thumbnail caught my eye immediately. Very nice piece, I adore the surreal quality of it all, especially the mermaid herself, with the period style hair, and the floating music sheets are fun and whimsical. Thank you for sharing this little peek into your mind! :)

WOW!!! That is awesome! This is the best render I have ever seen you do. :) OK, all right, yes, the fact that I love mermaids has a lot to do with that bias. :) ALSO this is kid-friendly; I'm allowed "in". super wide grin This hits to the heart, especially because she's playing a violin. I play but not well. Not well at all, unfortunately, but I always like to imagine I can. Mermaids are special to me because I love the sea even though it scares me. I guess we are mesmirized by what cuts deepest into us, and fear is good at that. Mermaids have no fear of the deep because they control the sea, not vice versa and that's cool. Hey, I love the textures you put onto the music stand; that totally rocks. How do you put textures onto stuff? I have mountains to learn obviously. I like everything you did here, Deane! The water, the reflections, the misty sky. Everything. It's totally tops! :)
