well I'll stop with a piece from a few years back. Looks like you've removed several pieces, since your gallery starts with this, and it's "25b". One of the things I noticed, in coming back to your earlier work, is that more people recognized your work back then. Artwithin (Suzanne) also welcomed you with open arms, as she should have. I don't know where everyone went, because you are superb. But coming back here, I am reminded of this so-clean and simpler and joyous style of yours. It has elements of the great 20th C. spanish masters. And it has many elements of you. Your way of dividing space into enclaves that are very alive and bulging; your way of filling these enclaves with varied textures, some taken from your day to day world (meshes, screens, branches and all the other things you put in to these older works); it has your wonderful contrast of hues; it has your very bright sun-bleached yellows (you don't see yellows like that in Chicago---we're too far north); and that wonderful ever-alive black line of yours, like the lead in stained glass only totally light and dancing. And your signature little black creatures. Your later pieces (like the ones I just commented on) are more complex and inward; but these have a bright mid-day dance and light that makes them equally joyous. Wonderful. I have to stop now, but I'll be back again. And I'll keep looking on other sites. Lord, you are such a fine artist!
