Description
A Spitfire of the 303 squardron flown by Sqn.Ldr. Jan Zumbach with 'Donald Duck' painted on its side (from Zumbach's nickname).
The 303 squadron played a very significant role in the Battle of Britain joining more than 150 fellow Polish pilots in this crucial encounter. The squadrons performance was extraordinary. It shot down 126 enemy planes and lost merely eight pilots in the effort, far surpassing the performance of any British squadron and earning itself permanent membership in the ranks of the most illustrious military formations in aviation history.

Here's a rough description about how this image was created (wires and wips of the Spit and pilot):

Boy, you sure know your Spitfire stuff. I see you've got her with the 'B' wing of one 20 mm and two 303's. A perfect 10. Drew.

Excellent model there. It is a new model too. I did two versions of the P-26 Peashooter so not a second go at the spitfire for you. The pilot is excellent in this one too.

A truly exemplary effort to supply an air to air shot that exactly duplicates a photograph whether that photograph actually exists or not. Through the filmy eyes of time. As a handicapper of military worth I will add it's story to my lore. It is not the same as a Foxbat buried in the desert. Nor is it a motorcycle.

Just a right man in a right chair;) Excellent Spitfire, it
s great you haven
t overdone the wear-and-tear. Regarding the sqdn itself, their achievments are ever more stunning when you remember they had Hurricanes during the Battle!
