Faking Stereo ~ This is just a little tutorial I've thrown together to show how to make crossed-eye stereo image pairs from an ordinary 2D image. Brief instructions are on the bottom of the image, so it's best to view full size. All manipulation was done in Photoshop. No special viewing equipment is necessary aside from perhaps two hands and a little optical adroitness. ~ Viewing Instructions: With monitor at a comfortable distance (2-3 feet), place your hands approximately 6 inches from your eyes with open palms toward face. Leave just enough gap between hands to allow viewing of the left image with your right eye, and right image with your left eye. Then focus on your hands allowing the images behind to merge into a single stereo image. ~ The image of the English countryside was taken by my daughter this past summer. Hope you all enjoy.
