Description

Hello All!! This was taken in/on lake Michagan this summer before a big thunderstorm came in . Christina was staring at the far off lighting to the south ( still about 10 miles away ) ,mesmerised by it here -!. We had just had a lakeside picnic ( these amazing green olive burgers that are popular in that region there ) and after, Chrissy wanted to go for a swim . The clouds rolled in and started to look angry. In this shot I had run down to get Chrissy out of the water as the fist signs of lighting started far off .( The weather had changed in minutes) and quickly snapped this before I called to her. Midwest weather is so unusual to me -One minute its a beautiful summers evening then 20 minutes later crazy stormy front moves in ) ~! THat night we had a huge thunder and lighting storm and trees fell over - we lost the power and had to light candles. This was a bit grainy so did a little of my postwork to soften it in paintshop. I liked the mood here so thought I would share it !! Thanks for all your time and comments! Love to all!! ((( big hugs ))) ~ Kimmers ! :O) ! ♥

Here your daughter is a beautiful mermaid. The whole scene is mesmerizing, love the drama of heaven, even if it later had difficult consequencies for you. But lighting candles in a dark house is an adventure too. As long as no humans or creatures are hurt, I enjoy a mighty thunder, espeially as they are infrequent here in peaceful Sweden LOL

I love the picture, but what I really love is how you put a border around it. It really makes it stand out. I agree with artwithin, there is something mystic about it. You are right, I've lived in the midwest all my life and yes the weather can change in the blink of an eye. Between the storms and seasons, I love the midwest for its hidden beuties as you have shown in this photo. Thank you. Steve

I think it was very nice of you to share.. I think it´s a very interresting picture, storms are very fascinating and at the same time a bit frightening. This picture made me remember when I was a child, my mom had to call me in almost every time we there was thunderstorms otherwise I would sit in my lookout tree watching as the lightning struck. Hope u have a great week. Hugz Benny
