Description

I think this species is called Porcine, but I am not sure about that. Anyway.. it also was very very bigggggg... Porcini (Boletus edulis, the taxonomic name) is a highly regarded edible mushroom. It has a number of English names, including cep (from its Catalan name cep or its French name c¨pe), king bolete and penny bun. A common term in current use is porcini (from the plural of its Italian name porcino). A pile of dried porcini at the Borgotaro festival of the porcino. The scientific name, Boletus, from the Latin stem bolet-, meaning "superior mushroom" and edulis, meaning edible, explains the species' culinary qualities. This mushroom has a distinct aroma reminiscent of fermented dough. It has a higher water content than other edible mushrooms. In case you didnt know..eating mushrooms found in nature can be highly dangerous. Many poisonous mushrooms are much like their edible cousins.. In the Netherlands picking mushrooms is forbidden btw.

I have learned that some of the dumpiest mushrooms are the ones that are most prized. This is one dumpy mushroom and you got a fabulous shot of it. Good pov too!

I think it to be a King Boletus Mushroom! Great eating but have to be harvested young, cause they get worms.
