Description

This is one of the most interesting places I have visited in Washington state. Dry Falls: As the name suggests, Dry Falls no longer carries water, but is the remnant of what was once the largest waterfall known to have existed on earth. Viewing the 3.5 miles of sheer cliffs that drop 400 feet, it is easy to imagine the roar of water pouring over them. (Niagara Falls by comparison, is one mile wide with a drop of 165 feet). http://www.gonorthwest.com/Washington/northeast/Dry_Falls.htm

Yes, this does look like a wonderful place and I see the reason for the name. I only wish you had uploaded a larger file so we could see it much larger.

I've been there - it is truly an awe-inspiring place! The visitor's center shouldn't be missed, either. Excellent capture of this amazing scene!

Much better in the bigger size. Now I can see that there are buildings in the background, which gives a better indication of the scale of the area.

This is lovely even if they no longer have water running over them but what a wonderful sight it would have been. This is a lovely shot.

This is a very beautiful composition. The sky's light and the reflexions in water are very intersting, and they give much depth to the scene.

What happened to stop the water? The sheer size of this place cannot really be appreciated in a photograph from the ground, unlesss of course you were that photographer(as you were). I cannot begin to image the thrill you had standing there looking at this huge crater. Thanks for the link, I have just been on the site and am suprised they did not have a picture to go with the information. Why don't you send them this one? Superb capture, I wish I could visit it myself. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Beautiful, Beautiful image! Oregon is one place I do need to visit. My daughter is living in Seattle right now. We just visited her earlier this year and went north to Vancouver. Next time, I definitely want to go south into Oregon. This place is now on my list of places to visit in Oregon!

This must have been one awesome scene to see the falls in flood. It makes one wonder what happened to all the water? I am going to keep this as a favorite and who knows, in future I can try to produce a Vue render of the landscape... You captured the scenery very well!
