'B' Roads in Wales tend to be narrow, full of twists, turns and steep inclines and most often without road markings ..... BUT they are extremely enjoyable to drive along. Many are tree lined, although unlike this pic threre's usually a sheer drop to one side!
This started out as an excercise using functions but ended up being a reminder of our stay in Wales last weekend.
I've only been using Vue for....ooooh about 5 years now, and thought it was time I started using it properly. Never much bothered with functions but for this one I created the terrain using Terrabrush (free!) and added a road in Photoshop.
I used the road layer as an alpha for the road material, and also as a function for the mixed material.
I duplicated the road a couple of times, each time widening it and then used those as functions to drive materials and eco systems.
Not really a mind boggling pic but it's a first for me as I got technical (which is quite scary when ya think about it!!)

Don't have Vue, so all the technical stuff just went over my head. LOL But it's a beautiful landscape, and I'll bet it was a great weekend. :)

Looks great but the road texture seems too flat, I think a bump map with some noise would suffice to give it "life". Another thing is that the ambient light could be a bit too much, which removes depth from the scene (look at the trees on the right side, for example). Anyway, a good one.
