Description

This is for Tara and her quest for knowledge. A few very colourful rawlplugs out of my tub, as you can see I have inserted screws into a couple so that you can see how they work. As you can see they also come in different sizes, before these 'Rawlplugs' were invented, we used wood dowels or just any piece of wood that fitted in the hole. Believe it or not they do make excellent anchor points. The 'Green' side of me thinks we should go back to using wood, it works just as well and does not pollute the atmosphere in the making. To ease my conscience a little, these did have 'Made from recycled plastic' on the box. Enough already! Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sunshine down on you where ever you are. May the bird of paradise fly up your nose" "May an elephant caress you with his toes" "May your wife be plagued with runners in her hose" "May the bird of paradise fly up your nose" (Little Jimmy Dickens)

I guess I'm an old fashioned sort of gal because I have never used one of these and still use dowel or in some cases a mix of sawdust and glue. Dang, I just never thought of seeing if there was an easier way. :-) Wonderful, colorful shot and very clear and detailed.

I do not use these anchors unless in concrete.I use a new metal screw anchor for drywall and then a screw goes in it.far superior holding power 50# per anchor.your capture is very colorful and beautiful macro

LOL!!! I saw the thumb, and thought, "Well, I bet it's dedicated to me!" :) This is quite excellent, both as a photograph and as a teaching aid! As it turns out, the thing that stumped me wasn't the item, but the name! I had never heard them called rawlplugs. We call 'em anchors. Thank you, my friend! Great shot!
