Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

I love it. Reminds me of the aftermath of storms we'd have in AR.

Almost unreal looking. Amazing photo.

It really has that stormy fall feeling!! Perfectly captured!!!

Great shot, with lush colors, of a pastoral scene under ominous clouds, Jodie! It looks very much like a painting.

I've always loved it when the sun is bright and the sky is dark like this. You see everything in such an interesting light. I'm not sure about the grain; as I'm one that removes as much as possible from my images... but still, I like this one a lot.

You've put together some color ranges and contrasts which is hard to beat and a favorite of mine: An old tractor in a composition! Excellent post work.

Beautiful shot, Jodie. That sky is fabulous, as is the surreal lighting you've captured. The atmo in this totally tangible. Yay on you for that. M :^)

I love the way you composed this shot. And I love the contrast between sky and landscape. Marvelous work!

Indeed, quite a strong mood in this one. Love how you have composed it with the fence and the red tractor. Good shot.

I realize there are still many shots of yours I haven't sat with, and this one I always wanted to see...Jodie, this is beautiful, it's like a painting: Whatever you did to it was perfect, and I know it wouldn't have worked if it weren't for your beautiful shot to begin with. The grain suggests a painting, though the colors do too, and the rolling sweep is truly sensuous and the trees just never seem to stop appearing. Fine play between open and forested land...You got the sky paralleling the land too (in textures) and that peach-hued cloud—top-left—harmonizes with the hues below. A very intuitive piece of shooting & enhancing, and very true to the midwest—only a midwestern sky could get that coloring, or at least I think so!—and if this is your grounds, it makes me wonder how you ever leave it for a day. A definite fav. (Oh, and your signature is in a hue that harmonizes with its background. You're always thinking about those things!)
