Description

The graves of four children are buried in front of these headstones at Riverside Cemetery in Denver. The children died from 1879 - 1887. A Rocky Mountain News article stated that Mr. & Mrs. Bell had suffered an unusual amount of sorrow and loss. Imagine their despair. Please view full size.

I like what you've done with the shot, great work. I agree with alhak, outliving your kids must be just about the worse thing a parent could go through.

Beautiful way to tell this little story, although I wonder what would happen if you had worked the other way around and set the grass and environment to black and white and left the color into the stones. Marvelous image!!

Wonderful witnesses of history here... I love old ruins and tombstones telling stories from times long gone.
