Description
No, this isn't some sort of diseased paramecium-- it is a chondrule in the meteorite NWA 987, taken using a USB digital microscope. In the beginning (of the solar system) there was dust, and the dust formed dust-bunnies. And something melted the dust-bunnies. Over a matter of minutes to hours, the melted globules cooled and refroze. Often, crystals grew within the blob as it cooled, to be left embedded in black amorphous glass. This chondrule is especially "busy".
