Description
Yet another view of the somewhat infamous TV tower babies. They're actually quite famous in Prague and one of the many logos employed by Prague TV IS actually a stylized form of one of these babies with a television for a face. The thing about these babies, known affectionately as "the Black Babies" is that they don't have faces, instead, they have cut-out sections of the frontal portions of their heads. Those cutaways resemble windows with bars. The symbolism is a quite overt and opaque at the same time...but if memory serves, this is also to be expected from an artist (duo of artists?) known for painting Communist monuments bright pink. I wish I had pictures of THOSE...but alas, they didn't survive the governmental switchover.
On another note...there is a VAGUE possibility that I MIGHT be returning to Prague! YAY! But I don't know yet; it all depends on a particular job, a particular Russian, and a particular set of other very strange circumstances.
As always, thank you for viewing and commenting, and I hope that this image brings you as much of a chuckle as it brings me, since I remember standing UNDER one of those babies...having a normally surreal conversation with a Czech guy commenting on how real babies are just as eerie at times.

A superb capture! This is a fantastic image, with a most unique and creative perspective. The dimensions are very pronounced and very intriguing indeed. The lighting gives the entire image a sense of peace and there is a kind of stillness associated with this structure. Really very beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

what an interesting structure! I thought maybe you photoshopped them crawling babies in there, but NO! This is AWESOME! And yes, real babies are eerie at times lol
