Description

Daybreak finds the lovely contessa awake and fearful. Accused of poisoning her elderly husband, she has now been jailed in the tower for many days and has become so distraught with the loneliness and filth of the place. To add to her discomfort, that pesky bird is always perched on the ledge, spying on her she is certain. Presently hearing someone ascending the tower steps, she presses herself against the pillar, fearing that this will be her last daybreak, wishing she could fly away like that god-foresaken bird...
