Description

We went out to the Hollow Sunday morning, last minute decision based on the weather report! We had two wonderful days, today was even better then the weather man said it would be! Tomorrow it's rain, and supposed to get colder. I think our lovely warm days are gone. Of course I took a ton of pictures, and this time made SURE I had plently of extra batteries. I was thrilled to sneak up close enough to capture this dragonfly. I could only get so close, so I had to zoom in as this guy was VERY flighty! It's not as crisp a photo as I'd like, but there's only so much my little camera can do! So here it is folks, my catch of the day! I hope that everyone noticed that I made a correction to my previous post, that little Goth Fae was not by Propschick, it was by Bellona, found in Bellona's Free Stuff, right here on 'Rosity! And what a lucky find it was, it made my image! Great big Thank You to all who stopped to look at the previous post "Undead", and who left much appreciated comments. And Great Big Thanks to all who favorited it. Again, I was totally overwhelmed, and completely thrilled that it was so wonderfully received!

A super shot and it looks very clear to me. Aren't their wings the most beautiful with all the super detail.

Really great capture of a dragon fly= my favorite insect. It's overall proportions generate a golden rectangle, the same geometry used in the Great Pyramid of Giza! Amazing- and your work is exceptional!!!

Yes, Insects are always "someone" who delivers a transcendent message. I study the insects for a long time now, and some years ago, I have even been kissed on my lips by a bee... smile me... one got to have great faith though, if a wild bee wants to kiss you. Moth are very interesting insects too. They usually do the night shift. (in transit of any messages) Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I call your picture a Blattschuss... this old word is used by the Swiss-hunters, but I did not find the exact translation. In the dictionary it is translated as: "Blattschuss" = shot through the shoulder to the heart. That means: One can not do it better. It is the best ! One must be a perfect hunter, in order to hit a fast moving object - such as an insect. And if it is a beautiful insect... it is a bit like a frog... Magic? Isnt it? Most perfect capture of this flighty little insect! A wonderful and most natural environment you have captured him within. The wings are ever so perfect in their symmetry, and finely detailed in your image! Congratulations on a wonderfully timed, well focused and beautiful photograph!

Now that's a marvelous shot!! If I had the time I'd count how many shapes there are in the wings, for they're so well visible. I'd love to see this hollow once...

My familiar here...so, of course, I adore it! But, Rita, you've completely outdone yourself on this capture. Light, clarity, pov...all simply exquisite! A beautiful, beautiful capture! Seems between your eye and all the little feasts that the Hollow provides you, we'll never have to hunger for a more intimate glimpse into nature-wonders. Now, come home..I miss you..lol :)

beautiful dragon fly and your capture is fine.it is not always easy even with professional lens and better cameras.I was fortunate for my trip as the last two days in Nevada was obscured by smoke from California wild fires
