Description

Hello guys and girls! I put these tulips in a vase in a morning (bought from shopping centre)by afternoon all the flower heads were bowing down just about to touch a table. I did not break or bend a stem myself, looks like they give up looking up. Enjoy your tuesday fuly...seeya

Tunde dear. Boy! do I know how the feel!!! Leave the flowers bound in the wrapping snip a bit of the stem off at the bottom and let them drink before you take them of of the wrapping. This is called conditioning the flowers. It works!!! A glorious capture of these tulips. Love your compo :-) Hugs. DiDi. xx

Hang down your head, Jim Dooley, hang down your head and cry. Judging from the photo, I don't expect it would do any good to tiptoe through the tulips in their condition. Fabulous POV, colors, clarity and lighting in this terrific shot, Tunde!

My word, that's beautiful! Such perfect clarity! Some florists put a thin wire up the stem to prevent this, but it made for a lovely shot!!

I think they look lovely, bowing their heads to the ground. And the light is so beautiful.

What a beautiful capture! I love the way the flowers are hanging over the edge. It gives a different point of view than what we usually see. I have a friend who is from Holland, and I figure she should know about tulips, right? She says to take a pin and stick it crossways through the stem, just below the flower, and take the pin out. That leaves an air hole, and the water can get all the way up the stem. Without an air hole, a bubble forms in the stem and the flower doesn't get enough water, and it droops. I've tried this trick, and it works every time! It's a good thing you didn't do that, though, or you wouldn't have gotten this wonderful shot! :)
