Description

Today our little Joseph became 10 days old, and was moved from his couveuse (if that is known in English, it's a device to keep very little babies at the right temperature for instance) to a little bed. He's still on the monitor, but probably this will be over after a control of 48 hours. All medics are still astonished with how well he's doing, he's gaining around 50 grams of weight each day and really loves to drink his bottles down wich is remarkable for pre- and dysmature babies like Joseph, most of them rather eat through the tube such babies get. To get back to the image, I chose the title because of a mailing I received from JaneEden in wich she says to know this little boy that is happy, and that happiness is just that thing that is important. And she's right, for it is, I feel that when I see Joseph, I certainly see it when Joseph spreads it as in the image. I see it in Brigittes eyes when she holds Joseph, and maybe it's a strange question, but it would really please me if she may be in your prayers tonight, because she's also fighting for a little girls happiness, and a bit of spiritual help would be in it's place I think, so for who does: Thank you!! Good day Thom

This really got me. I also had a very pre-mature baby and I remember. I remember and understand how it affects everyone and the toll it can take. You have our prayers. We got through our ordeal mainly on faith and a positive attitude and our little premmie is now a "eye-rolling, attitude throwing, know-everything, OH Mother!, pre-teen" !

I saw this an I suddenly saw my life just 34 years ago as I stood and looked at my son, wires and tubes and monitors attached, breathe. How I would reach in through the portal of the incubator and stroke whatever skin I could tough that didn't have wires, tubes or monitors stuck to. He was 6 weeks early. Today that boy is 6 feet tall and weighs in at about 250 pounds. :-) I love this shot. He will be a strong, handsome man someday.

Aww Thom. I am happy if I helped you with my words in our e-mail to each other. Joseph is looking so good now, and I told you that he had the spirit within him to survive, because he is a fighter. It is wonderful to see him tucking into his bottle, it will make him strong!!!! My prayers are with you and your family always - hugs Jane xx

My oldest niece was born seven weeks early. She weighed 3 pounds, 6 ounces. (I don't know how many grams that is - sorry!) She is now 29 years old, and has a daughter of her own. How well I remember her as a baby, looking at beautiful Joseph! He truly is a little bundle of happiness. And look! This is your 200th image. Congratulations!

What a tenderly beautiful picture of Joseph! He is obviously a strong willed little boy and wants to be with Mommy and Daddy. Lots of prayers for you and the lady at the hospital. May both children grow up happy and healthy people. Bunny

The three of you have been in my prayers ever since you mentioned there was to be a "little Soepie", and so you three shall stay in my prayers. I remember when my little one was born, just five pounds, and how I wanted to hold her. And what happiness she has brought me down through the years. So will little Joseph bring you years of happiness!
