I came all the way back here because I always liked your early posts and I've not commented on them (or most of them at least). And because it was Halloween recently, and this is a Halloween image. In addition to having fascinating characters---the skeletal person who looks like he's arguing something from a text, that strange ghost with those wonderful tentacles, the red kind-of "ram" person who looks like he wants to jump in, the black cat, not to mention the strange slatted stairs or whatever they are that everyone is standing or sitting on---it's a real interplay of dark & bright hues, different textures and lots of fascinating stuff in the house (those lanterns off to the left side included). And there in the 'starring' role, is the trick or treater, with her bright white blouse and red-riding-hood hood and saddle shoes; who seems the most "human" of the lot, and is smiling like this crew is pretty much par for the course for her. (I'm 61, and if I saw this crew? I'd be outa there in a New York minute, as they say...) Very imaginative, very witty, and very finely done. The door almost looks like this is a train compartment. I really like this piece.
