Description
Warren Haynes, taken last night at the Gibson Guitar Lounge in Memphis, Tennessee.
They said that James Brown was the hardest working man in show business, but that title now-a-days surely has to belong to Warren Haynes. In my opinion, he's the best blues based rock guitarist alive today.
Not only is he the front man for his own powerhouse band Gov't Mule, he's also one of the two incredible guitar players for the Allman Brothers Band, restoring that band up to and even beyond it's former glory.
In addition, he often does studio time with various artists and he tours with the former members of The Grateful Dead in an on going tribute to its fallen founder Jerry Garcia.
Rolling Stone rates him as the 23rd greatest guitar player of all time covering all generas. I think they cut him short, but who the heck can determine such a thing anyway?
If you don't know about Gov't Mule, check them out on itunes.
This was shot in extremely low light, but we had the advantage of being only about 12 feet away from Warren. Shot at either 1/15th or 1/30th of a second, 400 ISO.

When it comes to blues rock guitar, Warren is tough to top. This is an excellent moody portrait of him - well done!
