Several decades ago I farmed myself out as a security consultant in New Orleans. One of my clients was an escort service. Normally I never involved myself with a client but one of the employees of the service felt she was in danger so I offered her my protection. When I discussed this with the owner of the service he flatly refused to pick up her tab. Normally I don't work for free in his area but I made an exception. After all, she was beautiful and she was Megan. She was a bit put out with her employer and offered to pay me herself. I explained that my price was much higher than she could afford and I wasn't interested in taking it in trade. But... since I was going to spend a considerable amount of time with her while carrying out my duties... we agreed that we would our time together on a social basis. It may have been social for her but I soon fell under her spell and it became a bittersweet romantic interlude for me. Megan was no ordinary hooker. Though she kept her pesonal history to herself she appeared to possess a well-rounded classical education. The only thing I knew for sure about her was that she was originally from Canada.
