Description
This is my very first attempt at macro photography. I finally got the camera to focus up close, but obviously will need to use a tripod for future shots. ©2007, Windchime Photography.

I can see it won't be long before you have macros mastered. A tripod is important and so is composition. I think you'll find you learn macros faster than you thought.

Wonderful! Congratulations on your first macro! Practice doing a bunch of macros hand-held before you decide you need a tripod. I have two shots in my gallery where I used a tripod, and neither of them were macros. My first attempts were nowhere near as good as this one! If you can get by without a tripod, you'll be able to go anywhere.

Bold indeed! I very much like the way your focus is on the yellow "backwards" flower. All these colours together could easily make a kinda hysterical feeling to it, but it does not. Instead, this feels like an energy-injection! Impressive!
