Description

Hiyas. I haven't been able to get on the web much, so I just now caught up with everybodys. System is still glichie right now so it's on and off. I did a test image the other day using the scout for m3, and the Imperial Laz rifles and pistols from the 40K thread over at DAZ and I rather liked how it all turned out so I decided I'd post it just to let everybodies know I'm still kicking. The Scout set works well for Imperial Guard scouts (note that as far as I know their are no specific models for Imperial Guard Scouts released by Games Workshop so there is no conflict), they wear no armor, carry minimal weapons and equipment, and move quickly to scout out new terrain and enemy postions. They are the pathfinders of the 41st millenium, relying on skill and their wits as their primary assets to keep them alive in the field. It's not uncommen for teams to take dogs like the one shown into the field with them as the canine senses often prove of value and the Scouts of have grown extremly fond of there faithfull canine companions. I'm using my imagination for all this by the way, there are Imperial Marine Scouts but again no specific models or backround for Imperial Guard scouts I know of. Big hugs to all of yous and see you when I can (system allowing). ^^

Good image, I can see the work you put into it. The lighting seems a little dark to me, and another light might make it pop a little more, but still a very nice image.

With a Dobberman backup like that, who needs guns ? Kool scene, characters and muted forest hues ! I remember the scouts being my favorite playing on the PC Warhammer games ! Very well done & ~Cheers~ :o)

There was some Guidelines for scouts in the magazines and they were mostly geared towards the 'Scirmish' role in the battlefield. The way we used them was for small battles between a couple of squads with light equipment and armour. Mind you, five of us ran a five way 'Recon' meeting one day with Two Ork Patrols, One Marine Scout force, One Squat Fragmented unit in retreat and a Mercenary recon Unit. Using the 1st Gen Rules........ took us all night to resolve! Mind you, the beer was also a factor. The merc's were a little rule we came up with where the Orks and Imperials would 'Bid' for thier services. They had to play thier hand carefully as to hit both side's by 'accendent'!..... Sorry, Rabbitting on.... Great pic Crimson. You really know how to bring ideas to life.

Great job CrimsonD. I really like where you mind was with this piece. My earlier gallery entries show that I love the often over looked elements of 40K and your homage to scouts is pretty cool. It's good to see another 40K image from you my friend. I look forward to even more as your time allows.

Very nice, Red! Your talents have certainly matured over the past year. Glad to see someone using the M3 Scout outfit; a very nice product that seems greatly underused by CGers. Nicely produced render, which I'm adding to my favs. Sorry you're have 'puter/internet problems.

This is an excellent, well-rounded scene with lots of detail and stuff ^^ My only very minor point is the fire, in my opinion it should have a little glow. Other than that, one miiiiillllion stars ^^ Really an ace image and one of the best I've seen so far this week!
