Description

The Shin Piu ceremony can during all the day the day Here the prayers before haircut boy In the first plan the father, mother, sisters and close relatives of the boy Is a very important ceremony for them, almost like a marriage in other cultures There was a cameraman for register in a movie Virtually every time I was the only foreigner If he has other, they stay a little, tae two or three photos and go away I remain whole ceremony Each time, a person who represents the family came invite me formally to take part Already, they fell I am not a paparazzi, I don’t has here to make a exotic photograph and go, but I really am interested in what is happening in Lucia whenever possible, I try to participate First, before travel to the countries um I seek the maximum information on the culture and customs Also if I don’t now the details, I understand what happens and I try to act accordingly the rules This means respect not going anywhere, don’t climb anywhere to have the best angle, don’t cross in front to anyone The other rule is not arrived and run after the people as if it a parade anywhere Smile all the time, make compliments with head or hand joints when we recognize important people, the family, religious It´s not always easy with two heavy Nikons, their e zooms, the bag equipement, but is mandatory This is not a strategy to make good photos I began instinctively to enter in touch with the people and I learn with the time People from different cultures, see you different immediately If there are other foreigners were also treated well but I do not see them be invited like guest honor, go home with the family and many other things like this All people don’t are interested to follow all ceremony which can during for hours and hours I don’t say they are wrong, each one travel for different reasons and the mines are not the same It can be the difference between tourists and travelers, but I find it a bit pretentious Everybody thinks he was of the side of travelers

It certainly pays to do your research Mousson, if you are kind to a person do they not return the favour? If you respect a person should they not respect you. You are not one to force yourself upon there beliefs you respect them and try and learn their ways, in turn they respect you and invite you into their family. This is a good thing and fitting that they think of you in this way. As always your time spent waiting as been well worth it, for I am sure the tourist does not get the picture like this. Only one that respects the initiation service and is considered family could get a shot like this. I look all around and I do not see any faces looking directly into the camera. This shows to me that they have accepted you and do not mind that you take the photographs of them. We have a saying around this part of the world that is " You're part of the furniture " That is to say you belong here or you are accepted here. I think this is how all your friends over there think of you. Bravo Rosely!!!!!

What you say is so true...doing the research and understanding the customs before you go..no matter where on earth it is. Doors open to those who are felt to be "sympatico" to their way of life. I discovered that in Korea as well as China and Thailand. To be an "invited guest" is defiantely an honor, as you get to see things from theri perspective. Wonderful photo...as usual!
