Description

Old Buick in front of an old trading post in Bluff, Utah. This picture was taken in October 2006. Thanks for your kind comments to my previous uploads. A comment to the comments: There are many cars like this all over the Southwest. The paint is faded, but there is no rust, its too dry for that. In a small town (and town is an exaggeration)like this, everybody knows everybody else. I bet they don't lock the doors at night. Nobody would dream of doing something like that, and the only reason this thing is standing there is that nobody wants to haul it away for free, and nobody is willing to pay for having it hauled away. So it just adds to the ambiance. Whats a small Southwestern town without a couple of old heaps? By the way, they used to built things solid in America. Buicks slogan in the 50s and early 60s was 'you get more pounds for your money'.

Guten tag Siegfried, I find it interesting that the vehicle is still in tact and has not been picked over, especially the hoods ornament and license plate, or even spray painted with graffiti. Have a wonderful week and thank you for shring. egmont

Perfect shot. The vehicle looks like it broke down and never left the spot since the mid 50's. What an "eye" for that shot. Good job bill k
