Description

this cougar was shot in a private zoo and had been hand reared. cougars have several names, puma, mountain lion, or even panther being just some of them. they are the second heaviest cat in the americas, the heaviest being the jaguar. their primary source of food is meat but they have also been known to eat things as small as insects and rodents. adult cougars can stand as tall as 2.7ft at the shoulder and are around 8ft long nose to tail. they weigh between 115-160lbs where as a female will weigh between 75-105lbs. they give birth to between 1 and 6 kittens and have been known to fight of other animals as big as grizzly bears in defence of their kittens.

This is a wonderful shot. I once lived in the woods where I would wake up and find wet pather tracks on my front porch. It was not a good idea to let your animals or kids out without supervision. :-) This is a wonderfully detailed shot!
