Great Photos Mick, Very brave of you. A good looking couple. You both look really happy in todays photo. My hair was just the same back then lol, but alas it has all gone now lol again. I married in late 70's but, seperated 7 years ago, these days your lucky if they last as long as yours has. A credit to you both. Nice write-up too, well done!

In your first photo it seems to me that you both look as though you are anticipating, waiting for, hesitently meeting head-on an adventure. In the second, it seems as though you are living the adventure and quite comfortable with it. Congrats to you both. My hubby and I met when I was 14, and we have been married now for 34 years...sometimes it seems like 100! LOL

I recently received these words forwarded by a long-time email correspondent friend. I cannot find their origin. I apologize for the length, but it appears fitting tribute to this remarkable collage. People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on. Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season. LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

my sister before her first husband died was married for 40+ years and 20 years to her second husband.it is hard to believe such a long time has past.congrats on a long marriage and a beautiful wife

Congrautlations! You are a brave person to post the first picture but you both look right in style for that time. My kids look at my wedding pictures and laugh at my glasses but I remind them, "Hey, I was right in style for the early 60's!". I remind them their kids will be laughing at how funny they look in their pictures in a few years so they shouldn't laugh too hard.
