Description

Something completely different today! I was just playing in an idle few moments yesterday, trying to get a painted look to a render. This is an old render that I did last year (but I don't think it was ever posted), with treatment in Photoshop to try to achieve a painted look. It's not quite what I had in mind, but I liked how it turned out so thought I would share anyway. I've tried this on a few pics - renders and photos - and it generally looks good. If you want to try, here is the recipe: Apply the Median filter with 2-3 pixels strength; Increase saturation Increase contrast, and possibly brightness depending on the subject; Duplicate the layer; Apply Sharper Edges filter; Apply Find Edges filter; Set this layer to Overlay at 50-60%; You can also try different layer modes - Linear Burn gives a darker look, and Luminosity gives a paler look. I hope this is of interest - let me know if you use it! Thanks as always for looking, Phil

Something like an Edward Hopper's atmosphere, without his melancholy...
