I'm just a girl with a Nikon D90, who loves taking pictures of just about anything and everything. Postworking my images is 'my thing' .. The main programs I use are: Photoshop CS 5, Corel painter 12. I am currently laid off and seeking employment. I have been in the technical support field for the last 12 years and have really enjoyed the work. Not sure what I want to do now. I think it depends on what is out there and what is available. Competition is tough, there are so many out of work these days.
Anyway! I have been a member at Renderosity since 2004.Â
If you've read this far, I want to thank you for your interest. :) ShariLyn

You ask me to apply criticism to a terrain I have little experience. It has acquired painting attributes and it is very appealing. Apart from that the lighting is good and one of the things which grab my attention. Keep experimenting though, ground breaking work was seldomly done from a textbook.

Nice work. The black top let corner seems too big. But it's just my own feelings. The rest seems very good to me.
Bonker
Hi,, I do think you can draw so why don´t show us =) the image feels very diffrent as to what I´ve used to se from you. What I don´t like, the middle part! I think you got a nice mood going on with the darker parts of the image, and the bird up to the right with the moon and foggy feeling would have been enough to make a great image on it´s one. It´s refreshing to see your experiments.. Hugz/benny Hope u get a nice weekend

No clue what you did to this image, but I absolutely love it! A very creepy mood, but beautiful at the same time. Lovely work indeed!

Okay I love the mood you are trying to create here my friend, but for me there is too much smokey black in the composition. Otherwise I really get a dark mood feeling which I think is what you are trying to convey. Have a fantastic weekend my friend - hugs Jane xx

Well, difficult to explain... but I like this image very much !!! It reminds me somewhat my series of January 2006 : "Alfred " Excellent work, Shari, keep experimenting !

Imaginative and exotic scene! Excellent background and mist effect!

I like what you did but a couple of things strike me... There is a globe/bubble/moon... upper right in the fog spotlighting. As you can see, that is difficult to distinguish without study. I'm not sure I feel comfortable with that. Also, it took me a moment to understand the pose of the bird on the rail. There wasn't quite enough distinction for me to decide was it facing front or rear when I first looked at it. Other than that, I think what you have done here is great. The softening and the lighting affects are very nice.

Agree with Bonkers....the middle part is confusing to me....still a great shot of the Crow-type bird!
TwoPynts
Both the image and thumb by itself are very striking/moody photos. Well done!

You have my interest in understanding how this was accompished. Looks like fun. The result is a foreboding mood with an intention of intrigue.

the soft dreamlike atmosphere and the color shift of monochromatic on the right and color in the center of the image make me look more than one time at this.

MHO, I agree with some of the others on this, the top left I find to big, (either crop or lighten), the right hand crow as PJ says is very indistinct, no features whatsoever, the light just above it's head doesn't help, I think that could do with darkening or shifting towards the moon. It is a dark moody picture, if that is what you were aiming for then you have it. It is not up to your usual standard but hey we all have an off day. It is good to try different things, other wise we become stale or go autopilot just churning them out. I wish I had your guts and drive. Although this isn't your top notch stuff, I mark it four, for grit determination and effort. Bravo!!!!

Love he little gloomy and sad mood in this. Like a definiive Goodbye to summer. Hugs - Gun
