This is one of the many flowers on our beautiful Brugmansia tree which is in one of our gardens. It belongs to the Solanaceae family, which is actually native to subtropical regions, but we have been very successful in coaxing ours into a thriving plant here in the Bay Area. It is often confused with the Datura plant, which we also grow with great success. The flowers emit a delightfully citrus like scent in the early evening, which fills the garden with an intoxicating perfume for Tom and I both to enjoy. Both plants have been historically used in Vision Quest ritual, and I have had wonderful experiences when when working with the spirits of the plants.
