Description

One of the working horses at Blists Hill. The characters that are ever present at the Victorian Industrial Town are very good at trying to give you a more interesting photo opportunity. I stood pointing the camera and the man up on the carriage instructed the other to bring a pale of water for the horse which wasn't in the slightest interested in drinking any. families especially the children are regularly taken around the "town" on the back of the carriages, I shopped one or two out of the picture. thanks for dropping by, a good weekend to you all.

I'm only a single generation away from my ancestral use of working horses. It wouldn't surprise me if conditions arose where I find myself depending upon them. Your photographical reporting is valued.

Why did I miss this? both times, I missed this when I was at Blists Hill and I missed your posting of it, never mind that has now been rectified. It must have been when Pauline wanted to go shopping, why do women love to go shopping? Great capture Alan, a good bit of postwork as well, the only shot I got of this guy his cart was full of kids. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

A seriously beautiful capture, Alan. The tones so perfect for this work. My heart is melting looking at this gorgeous working horse. He looks so happy at his work. Afraid I am going to have to take this one with me. Superb work, Alan. Hugs. Di. xx

You do great work erasing people out of these photos and making them look like they were taken during that period of time! Awesome!!! :^)

Haha! As they always say, 'you can't make them drink'. Very nice capture and I like the sepia-type coloring here.
