Description

This gate is out in the woods at my sister-in-law Cindy's place. There isn't any fence . . . just this gate. It was like that when they bought the property. I've always loved it, and today seemed an appropriate time to share it with you. I was over there today to celebrate Cindy's mom's life. Kay passed away on October 24th. (I posted her picture in my gallery a couple months ago.) The gate seemed an interesting metaphor. You may feel free to make of it what you will.

It could be so many things, but what comes to my mind is her passing through on the way to whatever comes next!! It's a really lovely foto, and an even more touching tribute to her.

Tara, I love this shot...it has a foreboding feel in the tone you have used. Perhaps the rest of the fence was made of hedges or something...

I think this gate is beckoning me through it to explore an unknown world on the other side. I'm sure that world will be filled with joy, laughter, beautiful flowers, a pastel colored sky and lots of happy children. Oh yes, and pounds and pounds of chocolate that tastes delicious but has no calories. In a more serious vein, I like your thoughts on what the gate means to you.

Into nowhere?....if you open this gate you step into the wonderful place where faeries flying around, cute little goblins ready to play hide and seek with you. This a place where you wish to be when hard time hits you badly, this is a place where you share your joy and happiness with a whole world. Wonderfull shot Tara.

This is lovely. It is so 'Zen', isn't it? ...and if zen, ergo gentleness, peace, and many good things, even the faeries mentioned. I like this very much.

Oh I love this one, Tara! I'd have left that sucker there, too. A fascinating piece and I especially like there being no fence. The sepia completes the view perfectly. Fave!
