Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone? Aside from the fact that I dislike the idea of a parking garage like this in place of a park, this is a great image. Very graphic, nicely abstract, with wonderful composition and light!

All together now, 1, 2, 3!!!

This is a great image...well...great image of something that isn't so great. Too bad a park had to be sacrificed for that...but as Harry Bouras once said. "We're gonna cut down the Amazon Rain forest one day and put up a parking lot for a shopping mall, but we're gonna paint it green because we're sentimental." He was a cantankerous old man who had a smart comment for EVERYTHING...anyway...this is a great image, and rather telling as well, and I love the liberties taken.

Paved paradise.... Yes this make a sad story.... I did mention that in some cities here they let trees in some street but the ground is covered with pavment around the trunc as if some human were ashamed of nature!

A visual chronical in an age where everything must be built just in time to escalate the next level of sacrifice.
