Description
Stories and fables are like the wind - springing up in the doldrums of time and circumstance, and feeding the imagination of flowering minds.

The title invites a search for meanings. Thus you have the answers, I the problems. Ah, for a little telepathy! The warm area dominated by the dish claims compositional precedence, the chair back (front of) quickly erodes its expected downward shape, the other elements have a strange coherence, and the lower part of the picture has a simlicity of quiet mass which invites me to acknowledge and to then concentrate for meaning-relationships elsewhere. Actually I don't really want an answer for a continued mystery keeps the questioning alive.

Fables are so often inspired, granting a glimpse into the author’s time and place but, more importantly, conferring a timeless message or lesson. Your depiction is so rich and inviting, so loaded with meaning, and yet, so elegantly composed. Perhaps discussed over a meal and some wine, perhaps weaved into the fabric of today, your fresh message transcends time. Bravo.

I love the many angles and their contrast to the interesting floral shapes. The table setting IS inviting, and it makes me hungry for the tale that is beginning. I am attentive, perhaps a bit tantalized by the sense of anticipation. I love the mystery. Your colors are exquisite, and the inversion on the table is powerful, like contrasting the fable against reality. Excellent work, Denzil. Hugs, Suzanne
