Description


Ship created in bryce using bolean shapes and regular spheres etc.Towers are fantasy column 01 by agent smith. If anyone has advice,tutorials on creating textures for spaceships I'd sure appreciate any help you could offer. Thanks for your comments.

well, the modelling's fine, all you need is really the textures. what i would suggest is first to get a hold of a uvmapping. then just look for hull plating tuts :)

A very cool sci-fi scene - love the POV as it adds real dynamics to this! Very well modelled ship - its a stunner! Smooth, yet purposeful. In terms of textures, create a new bitmap in your favourite photo-editing software (1024 x 1024 is a good start). I think there may be a tutorial here about creating bitmaps for textures. There is a very useful filter in Photoshop called offset which, once you've added some colour/shapes/whatever to your bitmap, iwll automatically offset it so that the final bitmap will wrap around once you've used it on an object so it looks very natural. I've used my own bitmaps for textures in a few of my pieces: have a look at "From Time to Time", "Healing the Sea" and "Age of Copper" for some examples. Enjoy - its great fun!

Shockingly good for such a simple scene. I think the stock textures look fine. You've mapped them perfectly; the "lights" giving life to all the objects..
