Description

It's amazing how long I tried to get a shot of a dragonfly without success; then all of a sudden I got that first one and it was like he went out and told all his dragonfly friends to land in my yard and pose for me!... LOL. I have a lot more to share too, I hope you don't get sick of them. (I tried to identify the species of dragonflies, but I wasn't successful. I think a book may have been more helpful, instead of the on-line pictures?) I have never been much of a bug person, I usually go the opposite direction when I see a bug. But now... The camera takes precedence... and gives me courage! lol! Thank you so much for taking the time to view and comment and favorite my previous upload, ~Dragonfly 2~ . I always think I am so lucky to have you stop by my gallery and leave a remark! My heart flutters...' Have a Fabulous Day/Night! ~Big Hugs~

Superb capture. very successful. Although it is a bug shot I first thought it resembled a humming bird but not a criticism, thats just me I see something different in everything lol. Nice presentation work.

A very unusual pov but also a very good one, I have never seen a Dragonfly pictured from this angle. Great clarity and detail especially in the zoomed image. The blue of the sky really makes the little critter stand out. Excellent macro photography. Bravo!!!!!

Excellent macro! Since you live in California(?) I'd say it has to be a male Flame Skimmer [Libellula saturata] - alternatively a Neon Skimmer [Libellula croceipennis], although the amount of coloration in the wings points to the first alternative:)

The sharp image and fuzzy frame complement each other well in this splendid shot of the dragonfly hanging on for dear life. Great colors, clarity and textures.
