Description

Nikon 7900 pocket camera - hand held image. I never seem to have a problem finding spiders to photograph. I do have a problem with identifying all of them though, lol. Unfortunately, I have not been able to put a name to this species yet. If anyone does know, please let me know. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee

I like the way you caught him hanging on to that leaf there. What he is ... is over there and not here! lol. For some reason this one is extra spidery to me... I stay away from spiders if I can. My daughter and husband will catch them and throw them back outside for me (Unless it is a Black Widow or Brown Recluse.) Of course I have tried photographing a few, to no avail. I like looking at your photos. Gives me a chance to study them without the worry of them crawling on me... LOL! ~Have a great day~

Illusive critters! I've seen these only when I shoot a flower and then go to resize it. They are so cool at camoflauging themselves into the vein of a flower or leaf. Great capture.

As this ones eyes are quite small, and from the way legs 1 and 2 are held together, it could be from the family Pisauridae, which are nursery web spiders. If it's an orb weaver then try Tetragnathidae. Another great pic, super detail.

Another cracker of a shot Lee, I have never seen anything close to this before. It is rather strange how it has its front legs so close together, the back end is also unusual, in so much it being rather slim, the ones I get are more bulbous at the rear. What ever species it is it's a fine capture. Bravo!!!!!

It brings to mind a Squid or octopus or even one of those long legged starfish. A very flat sitting spider. A bit unappealing with the absence of leg hair... I know how tiny these are and I'm amazed at how well you were able to capture this! Outstanding as always, Lee!
