Description
Inspired by a rather corny Aussie horse movie I saw a little while back; there was one scene however that I really liked, of the focus of the movie, a silver stallion, that used minimal lighting in a dark stormy night. I thought I would try out some experimental painting techniques/use the Painter I won last year here some more. I did do a base render for setting up the lighting and for reference using the Mil Horse in Bryce 5, but all of the image has been totally overpainted in Painter. I also wanted to try doing more complicated hair for the mane etc. A definite challenge for me! Worth a look at the larger image to see the detail. The original is 16" x 20"

Actually, I'm more amazed by your icon picture. It appears to be a picture of you with that lion cub! Yet your homepage mentions horses, not lions. Real or Photoshopped?

Yep that really is me and that really is a real lion cub in my lap:) No Photoshop:) My husband took that picture of us at a Renaissance festival in Larkspur, Colorado where a fellow had a big male lion and this adorable cub there. Being a lion nut I just had to have my picture taken with him:)

Is there a chance that you will ever do a actual horse painting using your Cg programs,without using a model horse from poser?
