Description

This shot is from the Travertine Island area of the Chickasaw National Park not far from Little Niagara my last post. When I was a young boy my family held our reunions here. I remember getting here almost before daylight and staking out our claim on our preferred picnic area then standing guard till reinforcement showed up. I didn’t appreciate its beauty then, but it was a great place for adventure. Now my adventure’s comes through the lens of my camera. And as I walk down the paths that I played on so many years ago I enjoy the memories of my cousins and I, and our great conquests and discoveries. Now I take the time to enjoy its beauty. Takes a long time torealize the wonders of our youth. Then when it is almost gone, the things we remember it is sometimes to late. Like when they chop down all the old growth trees around here. Beautiful picture and a great site is still there to enjoy. Love it. Karen
