Beautiful terrain, I find that the trees just lack a bit of variation at the species level, and density. A review might distribution. Image a little too dark for my taste, an idea to use again! ;)

I believe it was a 17 hour render Frankman. Phylloxera, I used 32 unique variations for 1 population and 64 for the other. Should I increase both up to 128? As far as lighting goes, do you mean small light sources or change the sun's elevation?

Theres nothing wrong with this render mate, its dark because its partly in shadow, i think the trees look varied enough.. Nice work, it looks just as good as many of the other tree renders i've seen in the TG2 gallery.
