Description
Captured 11/8/07 around 7:15 AM, about 1.6 miles from my dwelling.
Okay, I know you're all accustomed to seeing purty roses day after day in their natural state, so I thought I'd stir the pot a little and show you one heavily postworked this time around. I'm confident no one could argue with that. Everyone likes postwork, right? Like, change and variety are good, remember?
I decided to postwork this particular flower because it was somewhat rough hewn around the edges, and had apparently seen better days during its short existence on this planet.
A third party mezzotint screen filter, along with the usual cropping, brightening and sharpening effects, was employed to create this composition.
I like to view this one full size, but it's all a matter of personal taste.
Have a phenomenal Friday!

Very nice shot. Well done

When I was 5 and went to Mr. Morton's summer day camp in Ohio, we had a craft class every Tuesday and Thursday. Besides making bath salt out of laundry softener flakes, we did toothbrush speckle art. This is exactly like the exquist art work I turned out with my trusted toothbrush, popsycle stick and paint! So, of course, I'm gonna tell you this is totally awesome. (My mother hung mine on the refrigerator.)

Beautiful mixed colors of the rose and great effect in postworing! I love!

Fantastic effect, love the extreme dottiness of this rose. Imagine those dotts are shiny like a fairy dust. What a wonderful postcard would be. Good job Harry!

A successful stir of the pot, I'd say... nice work!

Well you know I like to dabble some with the old postwork LOL. I think your finished result is really great and love the speckled effect. Maybe you could print it off, pat yourself on the back, say good boy, and hang it on the fridge like PJ's Mum used to her artwork. Have a wonderful weekend Harry, my friend - hugs Jane xx

MrsLubner: I seriously doubt you could achieve exactly the same effect as above with a toothbrush, popsicle stick and some paint. If you look closely at the postworked photo, all the dots/specks are precisely the same size, as opposed to the toothbrush/stick process, which leaves dots and specks of various sizes.
