Description

Just a General view of the central part of the temple of Shwedagon It's so big and it continues from all sides that there is no distance to take pictures without distortion And that's only the central portion It should also be said that it is at the top of a hill and four large stone stairs give access I hope not c ommit a heresy (Buddhists have great sense of humor) and agree with you when you talk to Disneyland There it is also a pleasant place to stroll, where he a lot of things to do and see is also the promenade on Sunday of several families and the first place than those that are never went to go see Rangoon When there are festivals, like the Full Moon Day, there are games! Once I won the lottery Buddhist! There are games to catch things with a kind of mechanical hand, or bring things with a ball! We never won money You pay a few kyats (really nothing at all) who go to the temple and you win cartons with our future or beautiful worlds There was also a game when you made a wish If the ball was in the right place, your wish realized! My one has been realized:-)) Everything is a naifté and “good child” we have the impression to be in another planet! The protest movements also began in Shwedagon It´s there Aung San Suu Kyi has made its first public appearance in 1988, attended by a half million people

I saw this temple in a book when I was a child, and it is fantastic to see it now, with your own story to accompany it. This is a brilliant photograph, GORGEOUS and from a great POV. I love this image and your stories are alway enlightening. Fantastic work!!!

I really like the contrast of hues and the wide-angle helps give a sense of the scale of this massive Temple ! I never would have guessed there were fun and games to be had, instead of quietly praying ! Great capture and insightful story ! LOL & ~Cheers~ :o)

Fabulous clarity and lighting effects in this shot, with the sharp architecture colors and textures contrasted against the soft billowing clouds in the blue sky! You've done it again, M, with this winner!

Another excellent image and narrative Mousson, you seem to have done your homework well and blend in with your suroundings to a certain extent. You show your respect for the Burmese people and their culture and by doing this you are made welcome(and also get many credits) and in turn the people respect you. As well as excellence this is also thought provoking. How was this temple built? How did they get it so high? how do they keep it shining? Don't try to answer these questions they are just ramblings in my head, due to the magnificence of the temple. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!
