the birth of the united Earth Aliance part one
In 2267 the first of earths deep space exporation vessels set out on a mission to the edges of our galaxy,
for the last 200 years it had been well estabished that there could be new life beyond the stars but so far away it would
be almost impossible to reach using normal sublight drives, after decades of research the newly formed world space agencey , was about to install earths first jump gate the idea was to have two gates, one
anchored in earths orbit the other at the edge of the galaxy which would they hoped provide almost instant travel between the two ,what they couldn't have known was the door that was about to be opened

Very cool image and interesting story. "About to let something else in" would certainly account for the birth of the UFA, I can think of no other impetus to human unity than the appearance of a potentially hostile alien race, and wouldn't be too sure it would happen even then. Great work!

Love the cliff-hanger ending of the story. The picture is wonderfully rendered. I especially like the nearby star and the world below the spaceship. And, speaking of the latter, the ship is a magnificant addition to your fleet. Well done!!!
