Description

Brookwood Cemetery was consecrated by the Bishop of Winchester on 7 November 1854 and opened to the public on 13 November 1854. At that time Brookwood Cemetery was the largest burial ground in the world. Today this is no longer true, but it remains the largest Cemetery in the UK, and is probably the biggest in Western Europe. Amazingly beautiful...even though you've captured stonework, there's a delicate and wistful touch to it. The golden color is utterly fascinating as it gives the statue a soft, human suppleness...at least that's how it's visually conveyed, and the way the statue stands out against the darker elements of the background is just great! In short, this is an all around good capture!
