I started Brycing in November of 2003 after being introduced to it through the owner of www.mulawa.net, Peter Hewitt. He created a set of tutorials and sent a group of us a book called Advanced Bryce Creations. His generoisity has led to many hours of joy for me as I create the images you will see in my gallery.
I was able to start Brycing because I no longer worked as a CAD drafter at the local foundry which lost most of its business to overseas businesses. My husband supports me for the time being but says when he retires, I get to go back to work so we have health insurance. We will see :D
Stats: Female, married, no children, brown hair, hazel eyes, glasses, drink Bacardi Limon and diet Pepsi(have since given this up...I still miss it, lol), love to golf, camp, play PC games and Bryce. I used to love to tend my garden so that's where my nick came from...Burpee Seeds.
Boring? Maybe but I'm happy :)

A herd, huh? lmao. If you scare them do you get a stampede? Great render, Nancy! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your never-ending computer troubles. Hanger in there! Hugs, Hol

Of course I've heard of turkeys!Fine image.

Beautiful scene. Lovely colors and composition. Looks like they are heading on vacation to avoid the Thanksgiving and Christmas rush lol. I thinkit's called a flock and sometimes a gaggle and I remember hearing somewhere a rafter. So take your pick. I like heard personally. lol

They are very lifelike turky, could it be a flock of turkey?? lol Excellent.
KatesFriend
You are probably thinking of a flock. A flock usually applies to a group of wild birds. I'm assuming these were wild turkeys or pheasants (the stupidest animal on the face of the Earth according to my dear departed Dad). Clever little scene here. Those turkeys are quite believable. Thanks for giving us the back story to it as well. I know what you mean about the 512kB limit too, I'm always running into it.

I've heard that Admiral Byrd was once stirred by a herd of birds. But then as his mind was a bit murky, he quickly became perky, and said that was not a herd of birds but a flock of turkeys. Er sumthin' like that. LOL Very cool render Nancy. Well done as always!

won't be long and i'll be eating one of those little guys. maybe it's a covey or a flock.

I believe it is a flock of turkeys when live and a freezer load of turkeys when frozen. If Vue (Or any 3d App) crashes when constructing or rendering a scene, try only assembling the background, render it and use it as a camera backdrop for the meshes in front of it for a second render. You'll save lots of memory that way.

I look at these birds and it is so sad they get slaughtered in the millions year after year... I worked at a temp job shortly where they cut down aspen trees to paint white and stick in pots with lights... Aspens lose there leaves durring the fall, so basicly you're sticking sticks in a pot... I didn't feel like being in the holiday spirit when working on over 200 trees... Don't know who came up with a tradition to give a dead flower to a girl or put a dead tree in your house and put presents under - sorry I got on that kick... gobble, gobble.

Awesome realism and love the title (lol).

Maybe its a flock of Buffalo??? BY te way a bad or under sized power supply can cause the kind of problems you are having.

Really is a beautiful piece. I hear your pain. I've been working in Vue and it just doesn't have the same feel as Bryce, and it's really slow on my machine. And it won't let me render at large resolution like Bryce will. Oh well. Again, a superb render

Hey Nancy. Great piece. Realistic quality to it. A flock or rafter of Turkeys. I always thought it was a gobble of Turkeys, perhaps that's just thanksgiving dinner. LOL. I think this is the 4th comments I have had the time to make here in over a month. I really need to changes professions!!!!!!! Keep well.

LOL, herd of turkeys??? That's too funny, I would have teased him too. It is a nice texture on the bird though, and a cool image to boot!

It should be a flock of turkeys. I almost bought that turkey model yesterday. Now I wish I had. Very fine realism, Nancy. Almost thought it was a photo. In Kansas, they've successfully reintrouduced the wild turkey. Back in the 1960s or 1970s they were extinct in these parts. Now you see them all the time. The very first group introduced was back in the 1980s in my "homeland" county, Ottawa.

LMAO...no, it's a "case of Wild Turkey" thanx bartender ! hehe Now down to business, great render (even at a reduced colour palette)and it looks very photo-realistic...BRAVO ! As for your PeeCee, yup sounds like the Mobo, but I do find my Vue6-extreme is very unstable compared to Vue5-infinite ! You better lay off the cooking for the masses, otherwise you will be to pissed to cook at all, after drinking that case of Wild Turkeys...hehe Love Ya & ~Cheers~ :o)

Nice picture Nancy - love the frame too! :)

a beautiful image Nancy, I love the colours and the hazy background. They are such curious creatures aren't they - they seem like they have just stepped out of the land of the dino's.

LOL! Fantastic composition and atmosphere. The herd/pack/group/band/gang/ruck/crowd of turkeys is very well done and they look very real. Jean-Luc's frames are very good and this one goes very well with the herd. 8-) Nice job.
