My personal favorite photograph is the sunrise/sunset. Balance of the sky with any foreground is always a question and almost always involves a trade-off. Sometimes I just focus the composition completely on the beautiful sky and eliminate the foreground, entirely. Lightening the shadows in your foreground reveals additional character in your beautiful photo, as I found with Adobe PhotoShop Elements 5.0.
